METRO Microbooster
Liquid-to-water domestic hot water heat pump for single-family houses
METRO Microbooster is a complete, floor-mounted domestic hot water heat pump that produces hot water for a household of up to five persons.
METRO Microbooster is a liquid-to-water heat pump that recycles the thermal energy from almost any type of liquid, including central heating, low-temperature district heating* or brine.
*NOTE: Always contact your local district heating supplier before you fit METRO Microbooster to the district heating system.
Four versions – several installation options
METRO Microbooster is available in four different versions, to suit a variety of scenarios.
Model V is equipped with a valve and is designed for systems where the heat source has an unlimited flow.
Model P is equipped with a pump and is for installations where the heat source does not have sufficient flow.
Models VS and PS are fitted with a valve and a pump, respectively, and also have a direct preheating coil in the hot water tank. These models are particularly suitable for use with heat sources with a flow temperature of more than 30°C. The heat source first circulates through the preheating coil, which preheats the domestic water directly, and is subsequently run through the heat pump, which uses the residual thermal energy. This results in an exceptionally high COP value of 8.5.
Uses residual heat
METRO Microbooster is particularly well-suited to decentralised hot water installations in multi-family houses and blocks of flats, as it permits production of hot water close up to the draw-off point. This ensures a water temperature of 65°C even for residents on the 10th floor, avoiding the risk of bacterial growth and minimising heat loss from circulation.
For example, METRO Microbooster can be combined with an existing space heating installation, and the heat from the return water used to heat the domestic water. Using the residual heat to heat the domestic water supply in this way is both economically and environmentally sound.
Sustainable and future-proof
METRO Microbooster has an energy rating of A+ and an exceptionally high COP. Microbooster makes a strong contribution to creating greener and more sustainable means of hot water production. It also meets the strict building regulations requirements now in the pipeline, making it a solution that you can rely on for many years to come.
The individual configuration options allow each user to control their own hot water consumption. This ensures the lowest possible waste of water. A Microbooster installed in each apartment of a block of flats will guarantee hot water for everyone – even on the top floor.
