METRO Delta is a liquid-to-water heat pump that can heat, produce domestic hot water and provide cooling. It is highly flexible and environmentally friendly, as it can be combined with heat sources such asground source , cold district heating or Thermonet (collective non-isolated groundsource).
The heat pump has a capacity of 3,5kW, which is perfect for the needs of smaller homes such as terraced houses, flats, etc. Its small size also makes it ideal for conversion from gas in small households, as it does not take up floor space and is not much larger than the dismantled gas boiler.
Quiet heat pump solution
The METRO Delta is perfect for smaller plots where there is no room for an air-to-water heat pump due to noise concerns. No matter which outdoor unit you combine it with geothermal, cold district heating or Thermonet – the outdoor installation will be completely silent.
Natural refrigerant
The heat pump is fuelled by R290 (propane), a natural refrigerant with a low climate impact. R290 has a very low GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 3, which means that each kg of refrigerant is equivalent to only 3 kg of CO2 – compared to, e.g., R32, which has a GWP of 675.
With an impressive COP value of 4,2*, it produces far more energy than it consumes. With a refrigerant charge of only 150 g, it can be installed in existing buildings without any special safety measures.
*With brine 0°C, heat 35°C, outdoor temperature 12°C.
Ideal for combination with groundsource or Thermonet
METRO Delta isideal for combining withliquid heat sources such as geothermal or Thermonet.
Since the METRO Delta can handle low inlet temperatures as low as -7°C, it is perfect for Thermonet, which basically acts as ultra low-temperature district heating.
A Thermonet consists of large, uninsulated geothermal strings that supply several homes with liquid-borne heat for their individual liquid-water heat pumps – such as METRO Delta.
The fluid travelling around the network has a low temperature, which METRO Delta boosts in temperature to avoid transmission losses.
